If you have attended classes at FYC it’s likely that you have practised Hatha, Ashtanga, Iynegar, Shivananda, Tantric, Bhakti, Kundalini, Vinyasa and Raja Yoga - quite without knowing it!
It is certain that you have practised Bhoga, and that your teacher has discouraged you.
Bhoga refers to the indulgence of practising yoga for it physical pleasure and comfort - a temporary and illusory aspect of life in contrast to the spiritual growth and liberation of yuj, or yoga.
Bhoga emphasis the enjoyment of sensory experiences, and brings to the Australian mind the delight of being a bogan. Grounded, and embracing a life free from anxiety.
We know we are blessed to have the choice between practising yoga and practicing bhoga. Many do not. All money raised from this event will go to the International Rescue Committee, to support those children impacted by war.
Usually at FYC we choose yoga, but for one night only, choose bhoga.
Delight in your senses and the physical experience, the joy of live and recorded non- traditional music, and the challenge of practicing in a class without instruction.
