We know from our own experience that Yoga has the power to transform ourselves, and the world around us. But that doesn’t happen automatically - we have to practice it.
Celebrate "International Yoga Day" and the Winter Solstice, with us in a unique way - Black Yoga.
Black Yoga originated as a way of introducing people to yoga who felt nervous around the traditional yoga school set up. For me, it has evolved into a method of teaching without using words. How to convey the alignment and the joy, the discomfort and struggle of an asana without talking about it! And may you come to know the benefits of a yoga practice brought to life.
Instead of words you will be listening to music, very non-traditional music from around the globe. It might surprise you. The amazing Gretta Little will sing us through savasana.
It is a led practice, we will all be doing the same thing, with asana, meditation and pranayama. But from beginning to OM, there will be no talking. The room will be soft and dark and inviting.
Thanks to Cat for donating the studio space, and to Gretta for donating her time. All money from sales will go to Happy Doggo Land and The International Rescue Committee.
Some yoga experience is required.
Buy your ticket soon, this event sells out every year!
(On December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly designated June 21 as the International Day of Yoga.)
